Exactly 100 years ago, Alcock and Brown flew the first non-stop crossing of the Atlantic. Arthur Whitten-Brown and John Alcock, both RAF flyers, took off from Newfoundland in Canada to fly the 1,880 miles across the Atlantic Ocean on 14 June 1919.
