An oddly hidden plaque for John S. Mosby ("The Gray Ghost" of the Confederacy) along State Street on the Virginia side. The plaque is tucked in the middle of some bushes in front of a bank's entrance. Most known for his service in the Confederate Army, Mosby spent a fair amount of time in SWVA as an attorney prior to his military service. He joined the Rebels as a private at the outbreak of war. He rose to the rank of Colonel and was a very prominent figure in the war. He led the 43rd Battalion
