A First Alert Weather Day is in effect Sunday for heat index values in the triple digits, as well as a significant threat for large hail, tornadoes and destructive winds Sunday night. A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Delta and Hopkins until 7:15 p.

The NWS Fort Worth TX issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 12:50 a.m. on Sunday in effect until 1:15 a.m. The warning is for Collin, Fannin and Hunt counties.

A spring filled with heavy-hitting weather is ratcheting up once more, as forecasters are warning residents across parts of Texas of "a potentially significant severe threat" Sunday evening. The nasty weather was already moving across North Texas on Sunday morning.
