Storm Floris made landfall in northern parts of the UK on the morning of Monday August 4, 2025, bringing intense rainfall followed by severe winds throughout the afternoon. Staff worked through the night to clear tracks blocked by fallen trees and debris after "significant disruption" on Monday, when winds of up to 124mph affected roads, flights, ferries and left thousands without power.
