The Sacramento Kings are finalizing a deal to make Doug Christie their new head coach, a league source told UPI on Tuesday.

The Kings replaced Brown with interim head coach Doug Christie who was able to help turn the team around and make a run at the Play-In despite trading away star point guard De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline.

"The Sacramento Kings and interim coach Doug Christie are finalizing a multiyear contract to make Christie the franchise's next head coach," Shams Charania of ESPN said in a post on X. "Christie's agent, Andy Miller of Klutch Sports, negotiated a new deal for the Kings' full-time job this week."
