Famous French streamer JeanPormanove, whose real name was Raphael Graven, has died, authorities confirmed on Tuesday

A French prosecutor said Thursday that Raphael Graven, known online as “Jean Pormanove”, likely died of medical causes, not foul play, after collapsing during a broadcast. His on-air death sparked a public outcry and a judicial investigation into alleged abuse.

French livestreamer Jean Pormanove died Monday near Nice during a violent live-stream. French authorities have now opened an investigation into the live-streamed death.

Raphaël Graven died Monday during a livestream on Kick. For months, he endured humiliation and physical abuse. The site, known for its relatively lax moderation, was aware of the content on his channel and regularly promoted it.

Raphael Graven, 46, died during a days-long broadcast in which he'd allegedly been harmed and humiliated for viewers' entertainment.
