Major League Baseball owners unanimously voted to approve John Seidler as the San Diego Padres' new control person on Thursday, commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters.

If appointed, John Seidler will simultaneously succeed Matt Seidler as trustee and Eric Kutsenda as Padres chairman.
