The British number one was looking to climb to fifth in the ATP rankings with a win, but he was ultimately undone in straight sets as Alcaraz saved six of the eight break points he faced to advance to the last four in Rome.

Jack Draper is the son of Roger Draper, who is known for his tenure as chief executive of Sport England from 2003 to 2006. He also held the position of chief executive at the Lawn Tennis Association (2006-2013) and professional rugby league club Warrington Wolves (2015-2017).
