The Forsyth County Board of Elections has retained four of its current five members, but with Republican Buddy Collins appointed as chairman by Republican state Auditor Dave Boliek.

The program that has operated since 1974 will break off into its own high school and middle school starting this school year.

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday that Dr. Lawrence Greenblatt, has been appoined as state health director and chief medical officer. Greenblatt begins his duties Monday.
