A brand new double-decker carousel opened at the mall Thursday for children of all ages. The carousel opened at 10 a.m. on Thursday, says Peachtree Mall General Manager Onassis Burress.

It’s the only double-decker carousel in North Carolina. The 1989 Bertazzon Carousel was manufactured in Italy and has 1,800 lights, Brazilian oak decking, and hand-painted Venetian murals.

Oak Park Mall confirmed it is in discussions with a new carousel company. It hopes to have an announcement soon about new family-friendly amenities that will be coming to the mall.
