BERLIN (Reuters) -German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he hopes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will be involved at the Russia-U.S. summit. Merz said he will have a call with U.S. president Donald Trump on Sunday in an interview with public broadcaster ARD.

By Dan Peleschuk and Mark Trevelyan (Reuters) -Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy won backing from Europe and NATO on Sunday as he rallied diplomatic support ahead of a Russia-U.S. summit this week where Kyiv fears Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump may try to dictate terms for ending the 3-1/2-year war.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Kyiv won’t cede territory to end the war with Russia as European leaders pledged their continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.
