Linebacker Quincy Williams and pass rusher Jermaine Johnson both expressed their excitement about having the former Jets star cornerback leading the way.

Speaking to SiriusXM, Johnson, who is coming back after a torn Achilles tendon that derailed his 2024 season in Week 2, said that he sees the parallels as Glenn begins to settle in as the Jets' 22nd head coach.

Dave Merritt was one of Aaron Glenn’s coaches when he played for the Jets and he noticed right away that Glenn was “different.” Merritt was a defensive assistant and linebackers coach in 2001, Glenn’s last season with the Jets.

Rick Spielman has joined the front office of the New York Jets. Spielman, 62, was hired in a new position created which is called a senior football advisor. Considering the unknowns about something like that… what exactly Spielman does for the team is a pretty good question right about now.

The former Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins general manager announced on his CBS Sports podcast Thursday that he'll serve as the team's senior football adviser. Spielman and former Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum assisted New York owner Woody Johnson in the franchise's two searches during the past few months.
