At just 23, Avdija put his national pride ahead of professional pursuits and has opted to suit up for Team Israel during a critical run toward EuroBasket 2025.

Last week, the nine-time All-Star announced he was returning to the Rose City two years after requesting a trade that took him 2,000 miles from the only NBA home he’d ever known.

The Portland Trail Blazers, a day after reintroducing star Damian Lillard, have added another guard to the roster. Portland announced Tuesday that it has signed 6-foot-3 guard Blake Wesley, 22, to a standard NBA contract.
