Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez was charged with one count of racketeering and one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering, prosecutors said.

The third co-defendant to be arrested in connection with an alleged illegal gambling enterprise in Central Florida involving suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez posted his $100,000 bond late Wednesday afternoon.

Marcos Lopez, 56, was charged with racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering in connection with what prosecutors called a "massive" illegal gambling operation.

"Osceola County, FL Sheriff Marcos Lopez was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations for his involvement in an illegal gambling operation in central Florida that generated more than $20 million in profits. Lopez is charged with racketeering and conspiracy to commit racketeering.

Another person was arrested in an alleged illegal gambling operation related to the suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez, NBC affiliate WESH said.
