A search for scrap metal in Texas took a gruesome turn when the searcher discovered a cooler containing what appears to be a human skull, according to Houston police and local news reports.

Authorities have confirmed that the remains found in a submerged car in a Utah reservoir belong to a man who disappeared more than 20 years ago.

Human remains discovered in DeBary in 1997 have been identified as Ryan L. Stone, the Volusia Sheriff's Office announced Thursday in a Facebook post. Stone was 22 when he was last seen by his family in 1994. His cause of death is still undetermined, but his family has been notified that he was found.

Steven Willard Anderson, 46, who went missing in 2004 has been found inside a submerged car in a Utah reservoir.
