The original song “Golden” from Netflix's biggest hit of 2025, "KPop Demon Hunters," topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the week of Aug. 16, signaling the beginning of a new chapter for Hallyu.

This week, two old standbys — Morgan Wallen 's I'm the Problem and Alex Warren 's "Ordinary" — top the Billboard albums and singles charts, respectively.

In contrast, KPop Demon Hunters debuted to just 15.4 million hours but its viewing time increased almost three fold the following week as the movie became a viral sensation.
