Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, has been fired after releasing a jobs report that angered President Donald Trump.

Bill Beach said the president's suggestions that the jobs report was rigged betrayed a misunderstanding in how those numbers are assembled.

Erika McEntarfer was a longtime US government employee who bore the brunt of President Trump’s unhappiness with Friday’s jobs report. She had served as BLS head for a year and a half.
