Scholastic announced Thursday that Suzanne Collins ‘ new novel in the bestselling Hunger Games series, Sunrise on the Reaping , sold more than 1.5 million world English copies—including print, e-books, and audiobooks—in its first week on sale in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

In the very first chapter, you’re introduced to two of Haymitch’s friends from District 12: Burdock and Asterid. They don’t play huge roles in the story of the book but die-hard Hunger Games fans will likely piece together that they are the eventual parents of Katniss Everdeen.
