Amazon nearing deal to hire Kevin Harlan
Amazon signed Griffin and Nowitzki to join host Taylor Rooks when the platform begins its NBA package later this calendar year. Amazon will start its 11-year, nearly $20 billion agreement with the NBA during the 2025-26 season. The Athletic ’s Richard Deitsch previously reported that Rooks would be the host.

Taylor Rooks, who has done incredible work with Turner Sports, will host the program. Ian Eagle, one of the best broadcasters in the game, is the lead play-by-play announcer for the network. It is unclear who else will join him in the booth.
Amazon’s future NBA broadcast team continues to come into focus. According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Amazon is “closing in on a deal to make Kevin Harlan its No. 2 play-by-player when it begins NBA coverage later this year.
