The New England Patriots named Mike Vrabel as the next head coach of the franchise on Sunday to little surprise within the NFL community. Vrabel, who most recently worked as a consultant to the Cleveland Browns and previously coached the Tennessee Titans,

Josh McDaniels and Mike Vrabel were together on what came close to being regarded as the NFL's best team of all-time.

One could surmise that Rees no longer being available only strengthens the possibility of Josh McDaniels returning as the Patriots offensive coordinator. McDaniels is a legendary offensive play-caller with years of experience calling plays in some of the biggest games in NFL history.
