The Seoul Western District Court issued the warrant on charges Yoon led an insurrection and abused his power when he declared martial law on Dec. 3 and allegedly sent troops to the National Assembly to stop lawmakers from voting down the decree.

Suspended South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol once again refused to appear for questioning on Friday, the third day of his detention, as investigators requested he be formally placed under arrest, the country's Yonhap news agency reported.

Impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol appeared for a court hearing to decide whether a formal arrest warrant against him with be issued at the Seoul Western District Court on Saturday afternoon.
