Chinese warships reportedly opened fire on a Japanese naval vessel in the East China Sea after navigational error

Japan’s Ministry of Defense has denied a Japanese media report that Chinese naval vessels fired two warning shots at a Japanese warship that sailed into China’s territorial waters last year.

Tokyo said the crew of its destroyer had failed to switch on a navigational system that displays maritime boundaries.
