Google’s Gemini AI has steadily made its way to the best of its software suite, from native Android integrations to interoperability with Workspace apps such as Gmail and Docs. However, some of the most advanced Gemini features have remained locked behind a subscription paywall.

Google is adding new personalization features to Gemini, including an option to have the chatbot search across your Google ecosystem activity.

On Thursday, Google announced that it was making two of its most popular features available to all users: Deep Research and Gems. Both of these features will allow users to unlock another level of Gemini assistance, even adding agentic capabilities.

Upgrades include tailoring the chatbot’s responses based on users’ search history, enhancing deep research and improving its connectivity with Google’s suite of apps.

Google is rolling out a slew of updates for its Gemini AI services. This time, the improvements are focused on free users, who can now access features like Gems and Deep Research, which were previously behind a paywall.
