Neighborhoods in Sierra Madre face a weekend of cleanup after the most powerful storm of the season left parts of the foothill community covered in mud. The San Gabriel Valley city was hard hit by this week’s storm,

The cleanup continued across the Eaton Fire burn area and surrounding communities on Friday after heavy rain pushed a lot of mud off the hillsides.

Heavy rainfall has triggered dangerous mudslides, swallowing streets near Grandview Ave & Anita Crest. Mandatory evacuations remain in place for areas near the Eaton Fire burn scar. Officials urge those still in their homes to shelter in place until roads are cleared.
