The U.S. relies on foreign medical school graduates, who fill around 25% of U.S. positions, to augment the physician workforce. Around one quarter of international medical graduates graduated from schools in India. Some residencies, such as pediatrics, are also struggling to fill positions.

Several providers said the app — which questions patients, reviews medical records, and produces a list of potential diagnoses — sidesteps real solutions.
