Hurricane Priscilla continues to pick up strength in the Pacific Ocean, with its outer bands expected to affect the southern Baja California peninsula starting Tuesday, Oct. 7. The hurricane center said in an Oct.
The NWS has been tracking the surge of moisture from Priscilla as it shifts northward. On Thursday, the NWS Weather Prediction Center warned that Phoenix and Winslow, Arizona, faced a moderate risk of flash flooding, in which there was at least a 40 percent chance of flash flooding.
The chances that the Atlantic's 10th named storm, Jerry, could form over the next few days increased again slightly on Tuesday morning.
As much as a foot of snow could fall in some locations, and roads could become icy, the National Weather Service said.
Tropical Storm Jerry will probably be blown out to sea by a separate storm near the East Coast, which could bring significant rain, wind and wave-related impacts, particularly to the coastal Carolinas and Virginia.
Hurricane Priscilla is lashing western Mexico with heavy rain, strong winds, and rough surf. The National Hurricane Center says a tropical storm watch has been issued for Baja California Sur from Cabo San Lucas to Cabo San Lazaro.
