With several inches of snow forecast overnight and into Wednesday, some metro schools are either canceling classes or switching to virtual learning.

Students, teachers and parents in the Kansas City area have endured scrambled school schedules so far in 2025. Between a record-breaking week of snow shortly after winter break, morning ice in early February and another winter storm expected to hit Wednesday, Feb. 12, area school districts are running out of their scheduled snow days.

Victoria Triece, 33, of Florida, claimed her children's school district violated her rights by prohibiting her from volunteering at school activities "The 'obsessive hating ex' narrative is becoming exhausting.

Many have already used all of their snow days and virtual learning days for the year, so they are starting to make a plan for makeup days if needed.
