Joel Embiid again has swelling in his left knee and will miss the Philadelphia 76ers’ upcoming road trip, the latest injury setback for the All-Star center who has played in only 13 games this season.

It’s the latest setback for Embiid, the often brilliant and frequently injured star whose games played total will remain stuck on 13 this unlucky season as the team heads for three challenging road games. It comes with the Sixers having lost four straight games and seven of nine ahead of a trip to play three teams in playoff position.

“While the foot sprain has healed, Embiid experienced an increase in swelling in his left knee following the workout,” the Sixers said in a statement. “After consulting with team medical staff and external doctors, Embiid will receive treatment in the coming days to address the swelling.”

Joel Embiid will miss the Sixers' road trip with a recurrence of swelling in his left knee. The team said Embiid will be evaluated again in 7-10 days.

Pascal Siakam scored 10 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, and Myles Turner added 18 points and 11 rebounds to help the Indiana Pacers beat the short-handed Philadelphia 76ers 115-102 on Saturday night.
