Houston weather: Cool, dry Wednesday; Thanksgiving Day forecast
Wednesday morning is starting off on the cooler side while its more sunny and breezy in the afternoon. We'll have highs in the 60s for Thanksgiving.
Houston started the morning with mostly cloudy skies and a temperature near 54°F, along with a light northeast breeze. Skies are expected to become mostly sunny in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching the low 60s. Winds are forecast to remain between 5 and 10 mph, with occasional stronger gusts on exposed bridges and open stretches of road.
Record heat and worsening drought have shaped Houston’s fall, stressing vegetation, raising fire danger and setting up a warm, dry start to winter.
When the annual downtown parade starts at 9 a.m. Thursday, temperatures are expected to be in the low- to mid-50s, according to the National Weather Service.
