Guilford County Board of Commissioners Chairman Skip Alston said the updated bill responds directly to what voters have been asking to see on the ballot regarding a tax referendum.

It’s something Guilford County voters have seen before: a proposed sales tax increase to support local needs. The last time it was on the ballot in November 2024, voters rejected it by nearly 60%.
