The sovereign grant is examining various possibilities for Frogmore Cottage's future use, with the Windsor property standing empty since Prince Harry's departure, GB News understands. Preliminary investigative work has been conducted at the site to assess whether splitting the residence back into two semi-detached properties remains feasible.
The five-bedroom property was renovated for £2.4m by the Duke and Duchess in 2018, after it was given to the newlyweds by Elizabeth II. The Duke and Duchess lived there for 10 months before stepping down as working members of the Royal family and moving to the US in 2020. The cottage has remained vacant ever since.
