The Storm Prediction Center maintains a marginal risk for severe weather across the region, with organized storms and large hail potential developing overnight.
Up to to 1.2 inches of rain is expected statewide by Saturday morning, March 7, according to the NWS Probabilistic Precipitation Portal. For Michigan's Thumb, accumulations may be lighter ranging from 0.01 to 0.6 of an inch of rain. Detroit is forecast to see a high of 55 degrees.
Michigan forecast severe weather on Tuesday, March 31, especially across the southern Lower Peninsula. Hail, isolated tornadoes are possible threats.
A cold front will bring scattered showers at sunrise Thursday, then stall across Indiana and Ohio before reactivating with heavier rain overnight into Friday across central and southeast Michigan.

Metro Detroit weather: Mild start to the day with morning rain ahead of a wet week
Morning rain will fade by the afternoon, but the wet weather returns tomorrow and persists for much of the week.
Winds remain breezy tonight, out of the southwest at 15-20 mph with gusts to around 30 mph at times. Overnight temperatures will only fall to around 60° with widespread rain moving in around midnight, overtaking the area in the early Monday morning hours.
More showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday night and overnight into Friday. There’s also a chance for severe weather. The highest risk for severe storms will be west of U.S. 23. Temperatures in Southeast Michigan will rise into the 60s by late Thursday. Areas round Detroit could see 70 degrees.
