Jimmy Rollins, a Bay Area native who admired Ricky Henderson and Jackie Robinson, has been inducted into the Phillies’ Wall of Fame.

After both Rollins and Wade spoke, they were given Phillies Wall of Fame rings by the team’s managing partner and CEO John Middleton, and 2008 World Series champion Chase Utley unveiled both men’s plaques. Congratulations to both Jimmy Rollins and Ed Wade on this historic achievement!

Jimmy Rollins told the Phillies in 2005 spring training that he did not want to negotiate a contract extension once the season began. So when opening day arrived without a deal, the Phillies granted his wish.
