Northwestern University has vowed to continue funding the research programs endangered by President Trump's federal funding freeze threats.

The first three months of President Donald Trump’s second term have been marked by consistent efforts to entrench the president’s ideological control over major public and private institutions, including Northwestern.

Northwestern officials say the university intends to fund at-risk research, days after the Trump administration announced plans to freeze nearly $800 million in federal funding.
