Santos began his sentence last month after pleading guilty to charges of money laundering and wire fraud, among other things, as part of a plea deal in April.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene asked President Donald Trump on Monday to grant clemency to former Republican Rep. George Santos, the notorious fabulist who began his seven-year prison sentence last month.

Santos, who pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, has been in federal prison since July 25.
