The arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 heralds some much-needed improvements over its predecessor, especially its Joy-Con controllers. Here’s a quick breakdown of what the announcement trailer showed us about the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons.

Perhaps more importantly, the video shows the Joy-Con clicking onto a separate piece before going into mouse mode. This other piece looks like it has some small pads on the bottom, like a computer mouse would, to make it a little easier to slide around.

It seems that many were disappointed with how little we saw in the Switch 2 reveal, as Nintendo share prices took a significant hit. Magnets are cool, and possibly magic, but let’s be honest, they’re not the most reliable things in the world.
