Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall Sunday morning in South Carolina.Scattered showers and thunderstorms from Chantal's outer bands continue to impact portions of inland South and North Carolina, with the more concentrated showers and thunderstorms from Chantal's inner bands moving from the South and North Carolina coastline inland.

Tropical Storm Chantal has formed off the southeastern U.S. coast. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says tropical storm warnings have been issued for portions of the Carolinas.

This new storm will be short-lived, but it's expected to put a damper on holiday weekend plans along parts of the Southeast coast.
