Shubman Gill became only the sixth Indian as well as the second-youngest to score a Test double century as captain, bringing up the milestone shortly after lunch on Day 2 of the second Test against England at Edgbaston.

Shubman Gill smashed an unbeaten 250+ at Edgbaston, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar’s 221 to record the highest Test score by an Indian in England, marking his maiden double century and breaking multiple records.

A sharp bouncer from Josh Tongue offered some respite by dismissing Ravindra Jadeja for 89, ending a sixth-wicket stand of 203 with Shubman Gill.
