Do you offer extra clothes or Layers if the weather is cold for white water rafting? We are from florida and are hoping to have the options of wetsuits and/or waterproof gear.

Flying Pig provides the wetsuits including jacket, boots and life vest over the jacket.

That's a great question because we get it a lot! Typically, the Yellowstone River at Gardiner is perfect for families and offers something for nearly all ages. The Flying Pig offers whitewater trips out of Gardiner and we require a minimum weight of 45 lbs to ensure that the life jacket fits well and the experience is super safe. I'm guessing that your 2 year old could be too small. We also offer scenic float trips about 30 minutes to the north in the Paradise Valley where the river is much calmer and allows rafters to relax and take in the scenery. I should mention that this year (2018) is shaping up to be a high water year due to significant snow in the mountains surrounding us. So even the scenic could challenge our normal policies. If you would like to call us and talk more about when you are coming and the size of your children, that would be best so that we can give you the most accurate information. Hi - we are a family of 4 interested in a rafting trip next summer (late August). How far in advance should we book? Kids (ages 9 & 12) are inexperienced rafters (have gone once on class II and loved it). Looking at either the full day or overnight camping. Are trips through Yankee Jim Canyon recommended for less experienced rafters?

Don't worry about the river being too rough. August is late in the season so the river will be down and mostly class II. We were actually hoping for more of a III/IV ride.
